Session Two/Small Group Questions
INTRO: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen a person do for love, whether in a movie or IRL?
SCRIPTURE: 11 Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too. 12 Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart. 13 If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. 14 Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. 15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. – 2 Corinthians 5:11-15
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.- John 14:23

Our purpose is to LIVE for Christ because of His LOVE for us.

When Christ’s love controls us,what changes?
When someone lives only for themselves, what are some of the things they
do on a regular basis? What movie or TV character would you say is the most selfish one you’ve ever seen? How is selfish living the opposite of living for Christ?
Why do you think Jesus says if you love Him, you will do what He says? How is it unloving to ignore what He asks? What do you have to know in order to actually do what He says? How can you figure out all He says to do?
In what ways do you struggle to live for Christ? Is it in what you say? Or is it
in what you do? Is there a certain place or with a certain group of people
where it harder for you to live for Christ? Why?
What are some ways you sometimes choose to live for yourself instead of
What are some changes that you could make in your life to live for Christ
instead of yourself?
Break up into groups of 2 or 3. Share where you struggle in your life to live for Christ the most: in school, with a certain group of friends, at home? Pray for each other.
